Red Lake to Thompson would be a He!! of a ride. Don't know of anyone ever doin that. I'd think you would have to bring lots of xtra gas for that ride.
Yes there has been many of old men do the FF to Thompson run and you can make it from gas stop to gas stop without xrta.

how far a ride from flin flon to thomp?
I would guess about 4- 6 hour by sled. The trail usually is never touched from FF to Snowlake and from Snowlake to Ponton somtimes gets used. i think Thompson may groom all the rest. Skunk would know. I'm gonna be in Flin Flon all next week I could give a update on the snow der as well. Sounds like they don't have much yet. Sorta like the shunks 3-4 inches he's been riding on LOL

I haven't been to Kenora in a while. Not sure what their snow is like. I'm guessin less than a foot. Will see on Friday when I go to the Beausejour races and let ya know then. Ear Falls has about a foot and 3 gas stations. Red lake has just over a foot of snow and closer to 2 feet just north of town. The lakes are froze with about 6-8 inches of ice as well. Ya plannin a trip this way???

went for a Braaaaaaap today
Put on 20 miles on the trails around town. Didn't want to hit the lake and go out of town. Ice is thin and gotta have faith in ur machine for thin ice :B But heres a couple pics for ya.
